Glock 19 Mods - Glock 19 is an amazing pistol. A staple of Gaston’s polymer pistol stable, the compact G19 is a favorite among concealed carry companies and one of the most popular handguns in America.
Popularity Breeds Aftermarket, and the aftermarket brings products to enhance this popular firearm. Aftermarket accessories for Glock pistols, and the Glock 19 in particular, are countless, so we’ve selflessly sifted through them to select the top five just for you (and you’re welcome).
Glock 19 Mods
How do you choose a good handgun? Here are the top five G19 upgrades that successfully (and easily) do just that:
G3 Ultimate Mod Package
As much as I like Glocks, I don't like their included plastic sights. Polymer frames are great, but polymer sights are hard to rely on. My first upgrade is always a new set of metal sights, and at the moment my current favorite is an Amarillo front sight with a Vickers rear battle sight. This combination creates a highly visible handgun with an all-black rear sight and night front sight. On the contrary, work faster to achieve your vision and reach your goal.
Glocks are very popular, and watch options are everywhere. Notable models include Trajecon Fiber Sites, Ameriglo I Dots, and TrueGlo. They are reliable, straightforward and well made. If I could only have one Glock 19 upgrade, it would be the new sights.
The Glock factory trigger isn’t bad, but it’s not great either—a solid “no” in my book. The good news is that anyone can easily make it great with a simple quality trigger swap. The Apex Tactical trigger is designed to clean up the Glock trigger by clarifying and improving the trigger pull.
It is a tactical trigger that does not compromise the Glock’s safe-action design or provide much trigger light. The Apex Tactical Glock 19 trigger pushes it to its fullest potential, allowing you to shoot faster and more accurately.

The large 'oil boat' compensators on carry pistols like the Glock 19 look like a boat anchor on a car. While they both have a purpose, they don't work together. The Griffin Armament Mini Compensator is different. This is more important than just protecting the hairline but provides a great deal of bounce and reduces muscle flap.
Installation is easy and complete with a 16mm wrench. This compact compensator is aimed at defensive handguns and reduces size and length as much as possible. The performance-per-ounce ratio is so high, you'll be amazed at how beneficial this simple addition can be. It does require a threaded barrel, but get one because this is an upgrade you won't regret!
The Streamlite TLR 7 is one of the first lights designed for compact pistols with an accessory rail such as the Glock 19. This light flows with the design of the Glock 19 and resists adding bulk and weight to the compact pistol. This is probably the easiest upgrade you can do for your Glock 19.
The TLR-7 has a 500-lumen light that outperforms most gun lights. This powerful flashlight is the perfect accessory for anyone, but especially for those for whom the Glock 19 does double duty as a home defense firearm. Don't forget to make sure you have a good holster to accommodate the light loaded gun!

Magpul offers plenty of solid gear for the Glock series of handguns and an easy upgrade is the GL Enhanced Magwell. This simple Glock 19 upgrade makes the mag wheel more funnel-like, resulting in smarter, faster reloads.
Magwells are popular in competition rifles and are often quite large, which is fine for competition but certainly not for concealed carry rifles. The Magpul Advanced Magwell is a small and useful upgrade that does not add bulk to your firearm and allows for faster reloading.
These are upgrades that you can easily do at home and while this is not an exhaustive list, it is a good start. If you're looking to alter the meat, visit a professional gunsmith to learn about your options for grinding, stapling, undercutting and more.
Always remember that with each new upgrade you should also add more training to make sure your shot keeps up with the changes. Have you tried any of these upgrades on your Glock 19 or other pistol? What is your favorite aftermarket accessory or upgrade?

Brands: Concealed Carry, Glock, Travis Pike, Glock 19, Streamlite TLR 7, Upgrades, Gun Upgrades, Apex Tactical Trigger, Magpol, and Micro Compensator Glocks are the most popular handgun brands in the United States. Glock pistols regularly appear on best-seller lists, are supplied to more than 60% of US law enforcement, and are recommended by many experts in the industry. When a first-time gun buyer asks for a handgun recommendation, the typical response is, “Get a Glock.” As a firearms platform becomes more popular, as is the case with Glock, manufacturers are quick to make third-party parts and accessories for that platform. Not surprisingly, the size of the aftermarket Glock rivals that of a 1911 pistol or AR-15.
The original Glock pistol, the first generation Glock 17, was designed to compete in the Austrian Military Pistol Trials in the early 1980s.

The Glock 17 allowed 17 rounds in the magazine as a high capacity firearm. It had a lightweight, primarily polymer frame, a barrel with polygonal rifling (more accurate and easier to maintain), and very few controls other than a manual safety and cocking mechanism. It features three internal safeties, including a drop safety and trigger safety. It can be quickly and tool-free disassembled and reassembled using only 34 parts.
The Glock's rugged and reliable design emerged as a winner in the Austrian Military Pistol Trials. This led to its adoption as the P80. Joint testing by Norway and Sweden subsequently revealed that the Glock pistol passed all NATO durability standards, resulting in approval by both countries.
In 1986, Glock opened an office in Smyrna, Georgia. Glock pistols began to be imported that same year and officially entered the market in 1988, attracting the attention of both civilian shooters and law enforcement.
In the 1990s, US law enforcement needed to replace their aging .38 revolvers with new, higher-capacity semi-automatic pistols. Glock has launched an extensive marketing campaign, offering huge discounts and lucrative business programs to convert law enforcement agencies to Glock. The plan was very successful. To this day, Glock pistols are still equipped with 60% to 65% of all law enforcement agencies in the United States.

In the civilian world, Glocks have taken nearly every shooting-related job by storm. They have dethroned the 1911 as the most popular competition platform. The Glock is often recommended by experts as ideal for concealed carry and personal defense. Glock even had pistol models suitable for hunting.
Every part of a Glock pistol contains at least one equivalent. Glock’s line of compatible products can be a challenge to navigate, especially for newcomers.
The most common complaint about Glock pistols has to do with sights and triggers. Both the sight and trigger are important for comfort and accuracy while shooting.
Other standard Glock upgrades include grip modifications, replacement barrels, magazine attachments, enlarged magazine wells, expanded control groups, replacement slides, and accessories such as lights, lasers, and red dot sights.

Glock polymer stock sights. The sighting system consists of a square U-shaped rear sight and a single-dot front sight. Although these sights are functional, many shooters do not like the idea of plastic sights.
Stock Glock sights are non-glare. If you intend to use a handgun for home defense, you may want to choose night sights. Night sights do not require batteries and are available in two types: tritium-illuminated and fiber-optic.
If you want to install the red dot sight (RDS) on your Glock pistol, you will need to modify your existing slide or purchase a separate pre-cut slide. RDS-compliant slides contain assembly and screw threads for mounting and RDS mounting.
Glock broke into the civilian market with its Gen 5 MOS models. Third-party manufacturers have been making RDS chips for decades. The RDS slide is compatible with the most popular small red dot and pistol sights, such as the Trajecon RMR or Leopold Delta Point.
